The History Of Wall Street Mall Dunedin

A unique feature of the Wall Street Mall complex is the underground causeway in the atrium which was unearthed during construction and is believed to be one of Dunedin's oldest streets. The causeway was an extraordinary find, consisting of numerous manuka logs forming a road which is thought to have dated from possibly the 1850s.
Wall Street Mall's glass display is unique
The Dunedin City Council has set a glass display pit in the floor of the atrium which will eventually house some of the original structure. While the original logs undergo a lengthy preservation process, a photo replica of the real thing takes its place for shopper’s to enjoy.
